CEO and Chairman
As CEO, Alan provides overall direction for the company. He brings over 20 years of experience in product management and marketing to this role.
Most recently, Alan was vice president of marketing at 61C, an intelligent routing start-up. Prior to 61C, he was president and COO of Emprise Technologies, where he led the marketing and development efforts for “eScan,” the company’s first internally developed Internet security product. Himler was also director of product management for Legent Corporation, now a part of Computer Associates. Among his accomplishments at Legent, Alan introduced a product rollout plan that became a company standard.
Alan received a bachelor of arts degree in business from St. Vincent College and a Masters of Business Administration from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
President
In his role, Don is responsible for expanding LogicLibrary's partnerships with large enterprises and regional systems integrators. His experience includes more than 20 years leading marketing teams and running operations and product management initiatives at technology companies.
Prior to joining LogicLibrary, Don was vice president of channel sales for Intraware, where he drove the success of indirect sales and managed the company's reseller relationships. As vice president of product management at Symantec, Don created and implemented strategic plans for delivering integrated security products, spanning anti-virus software to firewalls and intrusion detection products, for the worldwide enterprise and middle-tier markets. Don also worked in a variety of marketing and operations positions for TruSecure and Legent corporations and for Sterling Software Inc.
Don holds a bachelor of science degree in information sciences from the University of Pittsburgh.
Chief Technology Officer and Founder
Brent Carlson is Chief Technology Officer and founder at LogicLibrary, Inc. In this role, he drives the development and delivery of LogicLibrary’s products. Recently named to InfoWorld’s prestigious ranking of the Top 25 CTOs in business today, Brent is a 17-year veteran of IBM, where he served as lead architect for the WebSphere Business Components project and held numerous leadership roles on the “IBM SanFrancisco Project.” He is the co-author of two books: SanFrancisco Design Patterns: Blueprints for Business Software; and Framework Process Patterns: Lessons Learned Developing Application Frameworks.
Brent is a frequent presenter at industry conferences, including Web Services EDGE East 2005, Software Architecture Summit 2005, Enterprise Architect Summit 2004, Java Pro Live! 2004, Microsoft Tech-Ed 2004, Microsoft PDC 2003, IBM Rational Software Development User Conference 2004, regional user groups and Microsoft Architect Council meetings. Carlson holds 16 software patents, with eight more currently under evaluation.
Brent earned a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Iowa State University.
Vice President of Partner Relations
As Vice President of Partner Relations, Larry is responsible for managing LogicLibrary’s major partnerships. He works closely with LogicLibrary’s strategic alliances, including Microsoft, IBM and Serena, on cooperative marketing and sales activities. He brings over 28 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development to this role.
Most recently, Larry was director of sales and marketing at ComponentOne, a developer of software components for Microsoft Visual Studio. Prior to ComponentOne, he was vice president of sales for Purview Technologies, an Internet start-up company acquired by On Technology. Larry has also held key positions with Tartan Labs (acquired by Texas Instruments), FORMTEK, a Lockheed Martin Company, and McDonnell Douglas Information Systems Company (MCAUTO). Among his accomplishments, Larry has developed and managed worldwide distribution channels for a range of innovative software tools used by professional developers in large enterprises.
Larry received a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri.
Vice President of Sales
As Vice President of Sales, Brian is responsible for expanding LogicLibrary's software solutions to new and existing customers. Brian's experience includes 18 years of providing sales solutions to customers, from engineering applications to enterprise-wide product and software lifecycle solutions.
Prior to joining LogicLibrary, Brian ran product lifecycle solution sales for Mallett Technology Inc., where he drove the success of sales and managed the company's product lifecycle relationships. Brian also has experience with PTC, which develops and supports superior product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions.
Brian holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University.
Director of Professional Services
In her role, Mary is responsible for working with LogicLibrary customers to successfully implement Logidex; helping them employ best practices early, minimizing their risk and accelerating their return on investment when planning and implementing a service-oriented architecture (SOA) or software reuse initiative.
Prior to joining LogicLibrary, Mary spent 14 years at IBM in a variety of software development positions working in Object Oriented methodologies and business application frameworks including consulting engagements with IBM clients. After leaving IBM, Mary held Lead Architect and Software Development Manager positions at QAD and CIBER building web based business application frameworks and applications. Mary is the co-author of the book SanFrancisco Component Framework: An Introduction.
Mary holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stout in Applied Mathematics.
Director of Marketing Communications
As Director of Marketing Communications, Brenda is responsible for implementing marketing strategy and direction, publicity, lead generation, and all day-to-day marketing and communication functions. Brenda brings over 18 years of experience in marketing, communications and business development to this role.
Most recently, Brenda was marketing manager at the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence, prior to that role, Brenda served as marketing manager at Carnegie Mellon University Technology Transfer Office and previous to that Brenda spent 12 years in the financial services industry, as a market manager. Brenda was instrumental in creating e-magnify.com an online community for women entrepreneurs.
Brenda received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from the University of Pittsburgh as well as a Masters of Business Administration.
